UNORTODOX - Poster Series
After watching the excellent Netflix show Unorthodox I kept getting images in my mind from the show. I will create a poster series dealing with some of these images and ending with a final "alternative movie poster" of my own.

"Moishe"
- for me is a dark soul. He has fallen from all communities that he has been a part of and is drifting through life dominating those he can and being submissive to those he has to.
I chose orange to be his background colour because it is the colour which I think truly reflects his character. Lost, angry, dominant and scared.
"Yakov"

- is for me a tragic character not knowing where he belongs or how to connect with those around him, his religion, his past once the veil to another world is lifted.
I gave him the teal background colour as I want these background colours not only to act as a visual anchor but also to be representative of the character as well. I chose this posture slightly hunched over because I feel Yakov is carry so much weight on his shoulders. Not just from his community, expectation but also his distraught feelings for Esther.
"Esther"

The final portrait is complete. Esther is such a strong character it took me a long time to settle on her background colour. In the end mauve felt right to reflect what I see in her. Strong and yet fragile, bold and yet gentle.
Esty is a wonderful character played by the excellent Shira Haas. I am sure it is only a matter of time before we all see her in many more productions.
Thank you for taking the time the final poster will be released soon.
